Vale Volunteer Bureau Annual Report
The “V Word”
As a volunteer bureau we were constantly being asked for information on a wide range of good practice issues from recruiting organisations. In order to address this need we came up with the idea of producing a newsletter that would be a useful tool for organisations that involve volunteers in their work.
We have named the newsletter the “V Word” and this will be produced on a quarterly basis. It will be emailed to organisations and also available to be down loaded from our website.

VVB Research
“Good For Them - Good For Us ”
This study was completed by Eirwen Malin in March 2007. The funding for this research came from the 14/19 network.
Report to Vale Volunteer Bureau on youth volunteering work
This report was prepared in advance of the commencement of a new post on youth volunteering as described in a proposal dated 07-05-07 parts 1 and 2.
The first part of the work was to extract from the report "good for them! Good for us!" some basic advice to organisations that might help them improve their practice and administrative processes in order to encourage young volunteers.

“…because they enjoy it!” A study on the factors that effect the involvement of older people in volunteering.
This study was completed by Eirwen Malin an Independent Researcher October 2005. The funding for this research came from the Vale of Glamorgan Older Peoples Strategy who worked in partnership with the Vale Volunteer Bureau.
The aim of this study was to identify some of the issues that effect the involvement of older people (50+) in volunteering in the Vale, and identify action to increase these levels.
